In spirit more the dada of American Pop than the Dada of Zurich, Berlin, or Paris, “dadalavida” comes from a song by Iron Butterfly, or from a Spanish variant of c‘est la vie, or from a Dada variant of hasta la vista.
The phrases (dadastrings) are taken from songs, books, political slogans, advertising — things most Americans would (arguably) recognize — with one of the words in the phrase replaced by “dada.” The images are banalities of the American (sub)consciousness, occasionally photographed by myself or otherwise found on the Internet.
Image and text — as well as font, font size, font color and placement — are generated by an aleatory algorithm every time the page is loaded (just try to get the F16s on the runway in Bosnia with “Gone with the Dada”, or the image of the stockbroker during the crash with “For a Few Dadas More”, or Nixon with "Dada Dick"), so some montages might not be so interesting, others perhaps surprisingly so. Así es la vida.
